The Annex Loft was converted in 2005 and offers 40 residential units. It was the recipient of the 2005 City of Hamilton Urban Design and Architecture Award of Excellence in Adaptive Reuse. Urban Core Developments Group worked with Lintack Architects to redevelop the former Eatons Annex building into these industrial-style lofts with soaring ceilings, exposed duct work and polished concrete floors.

Suites at Annex Lofts include 1-bedroom, 1-bedroom + den and 2-bedroom layouts, with sizes typically ranging from 556 sq ft up to 1,050 sq ft. Units are designed with loft-style elements such as higher ceilings, large windows and open-concept layouts, along with modern finishes like stone countertops, contemporary cabinetry and in-suite laundry.

The Annex Lofts provides residents with a party room and bike storage. Although the building does not have onsite parking, there are rental spots available in the neighbourhood.
