Witton Lofts is the recipient of the 2013 City of Hamilton Urban Design Award of Excellence for Adaptive Reuse. The redevelopment of the former 1920’s school was completed in 2013 by Core Urban Inc. with the help of Lintack Architects. Three stories of all glass units were added to the original three story school to provide 36 condos. Formerly McIlwraith Public School, the original building was designed by William Palmer Witton.
The location at 50 Murray Street West is just steps to the Lake and the James Street North artistic hub. Witton Lofts also sits in close proximity to the new James St. GO terminal as well as Bayfront and Pier 4 Parks with access to the Waterfront Trail.
